Fall/Winter 2016 Newsletter

Welcome everyone to the fall/winter Lancaster Community Clinic Newsletter. As
we are enjoying the harvest foods, the beautiful colors, the cooler weather and the
slower pace, we would like to encourage you to take the time to reflect on ‘What
is Reiki’ and what are the many ways Reiki can be a part of your life. Here are a
few commonly asked questions about Reiki...

Q. What is Reiki?
A. Reiki is a gentle and safe holistic technique developed in Japan that is beneficial for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing of the mind, body, spirit and emotions. It enhances the body’s natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of our own natural energy systems. The word Reiki means the energy, spirit, or essence of everything. Reiki is not a replacement for medical care but part of an integrative approach to our whole well being.

Q. Is Reiki a religion?
A. Reiki is not a religion. It has no dogma, and does not require you to believe in anything in order to learn or use Reiki. Reiki promotes being at peace and harmony with all living things.

Q. Can I come back for another Reiki treatment?
A. Yes. You may schedule an appointment whenever you feel the need as many times as you like.
Our phone number is 717-824-9209 or e-mail us at lcreikiclinic@gmail.com

Q. How can I learn more about Reiki?
A. There are several books written by Frans and Bronwen Stiene that focus on the basic elements of Reiki and aid you in getting the most from a Reiki Treatment.
The Japanese Art of Reiki ISBN 1905047029
The Reiki Sourcebook ISBN 1846941814
Your Reiki Treatment – How To Get The Most Out Of It ISBN 1846940133
Please have a look at these books in the waiting room the evening of your treatment.

Q. How can I have this peaceful and relaxed feeling after a Reiki treatment for myself all the
time?

A. Traditionally there are three levels/classes that are taught in weekend workshops that provide a deeper understanding of the system of Reiki. Level I teaches the history of Reiki, provides a
greater understanding of the presence and flow of energy in and around your body, and provides
knowledge and instruction on how to practice Reiki on yourself. Level II dives deeper into the
understanding of energy and teaches how to share Reiki with others. Level III explores the subjects of interconnectedness and oneness and provides more comprehensive knowledge of the
teachings of Reiki. Attending a Level III class also prepares the student to teach the system of
Reiki to others. After taking Reiki classes, any one of any age can practice Reiki on
themselves and develop their own daily Reiki practice.

Q. Are there private Reiki sessions available?
A. Many of the volunteer Reiki Practitioners have their own private Reiki practice and will
schedule you for a fee. Business cards are available downstairs at the clinic.
