We are a community of Reiki practitioners dedicated to practicing and promoting Reiki.

We believe that Reiki can restore and maintain health and well-being.

The Lancaster Community Reiki Clinic was created in November, 2013 by local Reiki teacher, Helene Williams.

Like all things Reiki, Helene's vision of providing Reiki sessions to community members who might not otherwise be able to afford a session, started as a "wouldn't it be great if..." type of vision and has quickly manifested into a thriving, monthly clinic serving 32 guests per month.

Approximately 15 certified Reiki Practitioners volunteer their time every third Thursday of each month to share Reiki with community members. Sessions are 25 minutes long with 1-3 practitioners providing Reiki for each client.

How much should I donate?

The Reiki Clinic depends entirely on your donations to pay for our monthly room rental, massage tables and supplies. We are frequently asked what the typical donation is and we suggest $10.00 . . . more if you can, less if you can’t. Every donation gets reinvested back into the Reiki Clinic.

How Does Reiki Work?

Everything that is alive has energy that is flowing through it. This energy nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of energy is impeded, it may cause diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. Frans and Bronwen Stiene, authors of the Reiki Source Book, describe this perfectly in the following analogy, “Envision a free flowing river. This beautiful river is like energy flowing easily down through the body. Occasionally, a pebble, or even a rock, will fall into that river, making the flow of the water a little more difficult. These pebbles are human worries, fear, anger, and each pebble builds on top of the other. Soon, there is only a trickle of water running in that once beautiful free-flowing river. And so, it is with energy in the human body. Energy flow can be obstructed so much that at this point physical pain may be experienced”.

Reiki helps to restore and balance the energy in the body, allowing us to better heal ourselves. The recipient of Reiki is an active participant during their session.  They do this by setting an intention to being open to receive whatever they might need most from the session. The Reiki practitioner is trained to facilitate the flow of energy and does not dictate or manipulate it, but allows it to go where it is needed.
